Feng Shui and Chinese Astrology Update: February 2020
February 4 takes us into the month of the Earth Tiger and the arrival of spring. We’re now in the first month of the year of the Rat according to the solar calendar – a time of transitions, with both annual and monthly environmental energies we refer to as Feng Shui shifting into new directions, affecting our environment and immediate surroundings.
Yang has now returned after the Yin season of winter. Masculine qualities dominate the energetic imprint of the month, as the elements of the year (Yang Metal and the Rat’s Yang Water) and the month (Yang Earth and the Tiger’s Yang Wood) are all Yang. We can expect to see these Yang qualities manifested in the world stage. Yang Metal, Yang Earth, and Yang Wood tend to be uncompromising and unbending while Yang Water can be devastatingly forceful. Add Yang Metal’s destructive nature, Yang Earth’s penchant for strict boundaries, Yang Wood’s divisive leadership, and Yang Water’s fear-mongering to the mix – it is essential that we balance the Yang qualities of the month with the softness and resourcefulness of Yin. We can still stand our ground, but get full clarity on a subject matter before we defend. Be creative in your solutions, use wisdom in your decisions, and apply compassion to your actions.
The next few weeks are a good time for those born in a Yin Metal year or day to get professional advice that would be of great benefit to their career, health, or personal or spiritual growth as the Tiger brings support from the universe and nobleman protection to those with Yin Metal as their self-element or year of birth (which are years that end in 1, such as 1971, 1981, 1991) . The Tiger is also a travel star for those born on day or year of the Monkey, Rat, and Dragon. These signs can expect a more active month than usual. February 2020 Flying Stars Feng Shui Update
In the Flying Star Feng Shui chart above, the numbers in green are the annual stars for the year of the Rat (good until February 3, 2021), while the numbers in blue are February’s monthly stars. Check out my previous blog post for insights into 2020’s annual stars, which should take priority over the monthly stars as the yearly influences are much stronger than the monthly.
February’s monthly stars mirror the previous year of the Pig’s annual stars, with monthly star 8 of prosperity in the center. Use the center cautiously, however, as star 8 of prosperity is of Earth element, which can exacerbate the aggressive nature of 2020’s annual star 7 in the center, which is of Metal element.
The best sectors in February for daily activities are the West and the Northwest. Distant prosperity and wisdom star 1 visits the West, freshly occupied by annual star 9 of future prosperity, which together form an even more auspicious sum of 10 combination. The Northwest, which is 2020’s luckiest sector, gets a boost from the monthly star 9 of distant prosperity and joy. Activate the positive energies of the monthly and annual stars by spending your time and doing your daily activities in these two sectors of your residence or office.
Leave the Southwest, 2019’s most sensitive sector, quiet for another month as the monthly star 5 of misfortune visits the sector. Other sectors to spend as little time as possible in February are the East, South, and Northeast sectors. The East, 2020’s most afflicted sector, is where the annual star 5 of misfortune resides and should be kept quiet through the year. Monthly star 3 of arguments “flies” to the South sector, already visited by annual star 2 of illness in 2020. If your bedroom or office is located in the Northeast sector, take care not to spend too much time than necessary, especially if you start experiencing digestive issues, as monthly star 2 of illness lingers in the sector. Reinforce any doors or windows located in the Southeast sector and take caution when handling metal objects here as the sector is overwhelmed by Metal element.
*Although there may be remedies to lessen a sector’s negative energy, the best solution is to keep the area as quiet as possible and respect whatever energy is visiting there, especially if you’re not familiar with your home’s natal energies as you may accidentally activate a negative star’s natal influences.
Contact us here if you’d like to identify and activate the auspicious sectors in your living or office space and subdue the influences of inauspicious stars to help manifest your highest potentials. A proper Feng Shui analysis always takes into account the floor plan of a home, its location, direction, external and internal environment, and the year the home was built, as well as its affinity with the residents’ natal charts.
Knowing your home’s natal energies brings full awareness of your internal environment, which is a major part of our luck and destiny. An experienced consultant will identify your home and office’s energetic blue print and give proper recommendations on how to boost the effects of positive stars and lessen the impact of negative stars, but it is up to you whether or not you choose to implement the recommendations. Just like we spend time on self-care as part of our personal growth, there is major “home” work involved once you’ve had your home professionally Feng Shui’d.
