Feng Shui and Chinese Astrology Update: June 2019

June 6 takes us into the month of the Metal Horse, the fifth month in the Chinese solar calendar (also called the Hsia Calendar or the Ten Thousand Year Calendar). The Horse marks the height of summer, a season ruled by Fire element.

We’ve now passed one of the year’s most challenging months and are now in the middle of summer, a season dominated by Fire element, with Yang taking over Yin. In a couple of weeks, Yin will fully disappear, while Yang reaches its peak at summer solstice.
The start of the fifth month also brings us into a new seasonal marker, “Grain Ripens” – a time when fruits and vegetables are quickly ripening. As nature is full of expansive activities, so must we. Embrace the Yang to stoke your inner Fire. This is the season of joy, associated with Fire element, and a time to be most physically active. Spend your time outdoor, rise with the Sun and rest when the Sun sets.
The Horse, one of the four “Peach Blossom” animals in Chinese Astrology and a Yang Fire sign associated with the Sun, adds sweetness and exuberance to the month, especially to those born in year or day of the Snake, the Ox, the Rooster, and the Sheep / the Goat, while Yang Metal lightens up the year’s heavy Earth.

In the Flying Star Feng Shui chart for June 2019 above, the numbers in green are the annual stars for the current year (good until February 4, 2020), while the numbers in blue refer to June’s monthly stars.
The good news this month is that no sector is particularly bad as compared to May, when we had the monthly stars mirroring the annual stars, amplifying the positive and the negative energies of the year. The not so good news is, we only have limited sectors we can take advantage of, with the month’s most auspicious star “flying” to the Northwest. Monthly star 8 of current prosperity joins the annual star 9 of future prosperity in the Northwest. Do your work or daily activities in the NW if the sector is a usable space to activate the most productive area of the month.
The West sector, blessed with monthly star 9, is an ideal creative workspace for writers or artists as the 9 amplifies the annual star 1 of wisdom, which together also forms a lucky sum of 10 combination, Keep the sector free of loud noises, however, as the West is also where the annual Three Killings resides.
You can use the Southwest sector with caution and for a limited time as the monthly star 4 of romance and academic achievements “flies” to the SW. Keep the activities there quiet, however, as the SW is also where the annual star 5 of misfortune also resides.
The sectors to keep quiet and spend as little time as possible this month are the East, visited by the monthly star 5 of misfortune, and the South, visited by the star 2 of illness.
*Although there may be remedies to lessen a sector’s negative energy, the best solution is to keep the area as quiet as possible and respect whatever energy is visiting there, especially if you’re not familiar with your home’s natal energies as you may accidentally activate a negative star’s natal influences.
**Contact me here if you’d like to identify and activate the auspicious sectors in your living or office space and subdue the influences of inauspicious stars to help optimize your family’s well-being. I also recommend getting a strategic life reading, which provides you with a blueprint for manifesting your highest potentials.
***If you have had your home Feng Shui’d, I strongly advise getting an annual update as the annual stars are strong in influence and can highly affect the well-being of the home’s occupants for the year. Just like we spend time on self-care as part of our life’s self-work, there is major “home” work involved once you’ve had your home professionally Feng Shui’d. Knowing your home’s natal energies can be enlightening as it brings full awareness to your internal environment, which is a major part of our luck and destiny.
Feng Shui has nothing to do about having a “consultant” come and “clean” your space with sage, incense, or palo santo sticks. While I love those space-clearing tools, they’re as good as vacuuming and mopping the floor and will not get you to the root of the issue. In fact, it is better to vacuum as the noise and movement activate a positive sector – I highly recommend doing so on the first day of the new solar month! Just like we spend time on self-care as part of our life’s self-work, there is major “home” work involved once you’ve had your home professionally Feng Shui’d. Knowing your home’s natal energies can be enlightening and also frightening as it brings full awareness to your internal environment, which is a major part of our luck and destiny.
