The month of the Fire Rat arrives on December 7, 2019. We’re now in the midst of winter in the Chinese solar calendar, with Yin / darkness at peak and Yang / brightness at rest, ready to resurface after winter solstice. Take note of what transpires in the next few weeks as December introduces us to the elemental energies of 2020.
Winter arrives early in the Chinese solar calendar. On November 8, we enter the month of the Wood Pig. The darkness of Yin now dominates, with chilly mornings, shorter days, and longer nights. With only three months left in the year of the Pig, November is poised to be a month of turning points.
October 8 takes us into the month of the Wood Dog and a two-week period called “Cold Dew” seasonal marker. Yin continues to gain strength as autumn peaks and temperatures get cooler in the evenings and early mornings, with dew, fog and mist often visible in the early part of the day.
September 8 takes us into the month of the Water Rooster. We’re now in the middle of autumn in the Chinese calendar, the peak of Metal season, with strong influence of Yin Water bringing hints of what’s to come in the Yin-dominated months ahead.
