2019 Year of the Earth Pig: Astrology Insights For Your Chinese Zodiac Signs

The lunar new year of the Earth Pig / the Boar arrives on February 5, 2019. Get ready for a faster-paced year compared to the previous year of the Dog, as the Pig is one of four travel stars in Chinese Astrology. Read on for what you can expect in 2019, according to the animal signs that are in your natal chart. Since a chart contains the elements and animal signs of the birth year, month, day, and hour, each of us has up to four different animal signs.

Pig
In Chinese Astrology, the year you meet your animal sign is considered a karmic year, the beginning of a new phase. If you were born in the year of the Pig / the Boar (1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007), think back to milestones accomplished in 2007, 1995, and so on, and get ready for more life-changing moments. At times it may feel like a roller coaster ride, so fasten your seat belt, go with the flow, and trust in the journey. You have the support of Jupiter as the “Grand Duke” joins your natal Jupiter, guiding you along the way. If you were born in the month of the Pig (between November 8 to December 6), the spotlight will be on you at work, but you must keep up with the fast pace and restrain yourself from getting defensive or reactive. If you were born on the day of the Pig, this is the year to work on self-love and self-forgiveness. Shadow work will be especially healing because the Pig is one of the signs that doesn’t like to encounter its own kind, which may affect your emotional state. Discretion is the theme of the year for those born in the hours of the Pig (between 9 to 11 p.m.) – whatever you’re working on, staying low-key will save you from unnecessary hassles.
Rat
The year of the Pig is a year of action and expansion for the Rat. Those born in the year of the Rat (1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008) will gain benefit and support from the communities at large. Get out and circulate more, you never know who you’ll meet. If you were born in the month of the Rat (between December 7 to January 5), luck is on your side at work despite competition. You can be bolder in your action, but take care to detach from work-related stress. Those born on the day of the Rat can look forward to a sweeter connection with their partner if in a relationship as the star of romance visits the Rat in 2019, while those who are single will have opportunities to meet potential partners that you may need to be discerning. Pay attention to your health as your Qi may be weaker than usual. Those born in the hours of the Rat (between 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.): find time to nourish your inner creative – this is a good year to give birth to projects that feed your soul (and perhaps fatten your wallet, too).
Ox
2018 has been a challenging year for the Ox as the Dog formed a half Earth sign penalty with the Ox, causing unnecessary stress and anxiety. 2019 is a friendlier albeit fast-paced one for those with an Ox in their chart. The Pig is the travel star for those born in year or day of the Ox, triggering a year of change and movement. If you were born in the year of the Ox (1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009), you may find yourself in a completely different environment from the previous year or get involved with new groups. Welcome them with an open heart as the Pig year’s Yin Earth is more supportive to the Ox than the Dog year’s competitive Yang Earth. Those born in the month of the Ox (between January 6 to February 3): get ready for a steep learning curve at work – your colleagues may treat you to an invaluable learning experience. Enjoy the ride. Those born on the day of the Ox may find their energy level to be lower than usual – practice self-care and rest when you need to. Traveling will help reset your energy and elevate your mood so book some R&R time out of town throughout the year. If you were born between 1 to 3 a.m., count on your inner circle to help you whenever you need advise.
Tiger
The Tiger, the Pig’s secret friend, is one of the most fortunate signs in 2019. The Tiger has already benefited in 2018 as one of the Dog’s allies, and whatever growth achieved in the past year will keep developing. This is one of the best years to take a chance & go for it: pursue a new career path, ask for promotion or start your own business in a field you’re passionate about. Those born in the year of the Tiger (1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010) will have support from the outside world at large, while those born in the month of the Tiger (between February 4 to March 5) will enjoy  career support from their work environment. Those born on the day of the Tiger will have most of their support coming from their partner. Those born in the hours of the Tiger (between 3 to 5 a.m.) will benefit from creative projects and investments. Of course this depends on your effort & investment – the more you put in, the more you get back!
Rabbit
The universe has been generous in the past year to those with a Rabbit, the Dog’s secret friend, in their natal chart. The blessings continue in the year of the Pig as the Rabbit is one of the Pig / the Boar’s allies and one of the luckier signs in 2019. It’s a year to be creative with how you earn your living, especially if you were also born on a Wood day. Social opportunities lead to greater opportunities for those born in the year of the Rabbit (1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011). Those born in the month of the Rabbit (between March 6 to April 4) will flourish in their career. Collaboration with close partners brings synchronicity for those born on the day of the Rabbit. Those born in the hours of the Rabbit (between 5 to 7 a.m.) may want to try earning an extra income from their assets, like putting their homes on AirBnb. The Pig’s strong Water will be nourishing to the Rabbit. Remember to stay humble as success tends to invite envy.
Dragon
2018 has been most challenging to Dragons as oppositions always bring major life transformation, whether it’s to the inner or outer world. Those who have a Dragon in their chart can take a breath of relief in the year of the Pig as issues and set-backs can now be resolved. Dragons are resilient and known for their power to turn challenges into opportunities. 2019 is the year to implement the changes and amend relationships worth saving. Those born in a Dragon year (1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012) can find growth and relationship opportunities from expanding their social circles, while those born between April 5 – May 4 should find time to network with people in their professional fields. Those born on a Dragon day will finally be able to connect deeper with their partner, while those born in the hours of the Dragon (between 7 – 9 a.m.) can gain better understanding of their creativity and any issues with their children.
Snake
Big changes are ahead as the Snake is the sign that clashes with the Pig in 2019. Since both the Snake & the Pig are travel stars, this is the year to be active, keep moving & take every challenge as an exciting opportunity for growth. For those born in the year of the Snake (1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013), a daily gratitude practice & opening your heart to outside help will do wonders in navigating the year ahead. Those born in the month of the Snake (between May 5 to June 5) would encounter tough competition & more demands at work, but hard work pays off so rise up to the challenge. Those born on the day of the Snake should work at keeping their relationship interesting – travel together, do something different, move forward or move on – and if you have no relationship, perhaps you’ll end the year with an exciting one! Those born in the hours of the Snake (between 9 to 11 a.m.) will need to invest more time & money for higher knowledge or for their children, but the more you put in, the more you’ll get in return even if it may take years to reap the rewards – generosity is your key to success. You can carry a symbol or charm of the Tiger, the Pig’s year best friend, as protection in 2019, or better yet, identify those who have a Tiger in their charts as these are the people who most likely can help you get out of troubles.
Horse
The Horse, an ally of the Dog, has had a pretty smooth 2018. The Pig will also be generous to those who have a Horse in their chart in 2019, as the hidden Yang Wood in the Pig nourishes the Horse’s Yang Fire. Those born in the year of the Horse (1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014) will continue to expand their social circles and grow whatever progress was achieved in 2018. If you were born in the month of the Horse (between June 6 to July 6), continue putting in hard work as your efforts are being noticed. Those born on the day of the Horse can expect a harmonious year with their partner – those currently single should make efforts to be more social as the Yang Fire in the Horse has a special attraction to the Pig’s Yin Water. Those born between 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., if you’ve been looking to buy a house, the year of the Pig will help you find one with good Feng Shui (when we’re in good luck, we attract auspicious things effortlessly, and this also applies to buying a home). 2019 in short is a year of continuation of growth for the Horse – keep up with the good work, because you will want to have a very solid foundation to rely on when the Horse opposes the Rat year in 2020.
Sheep
The Sheep / the Goat, as one of the Pig’s allies, will be blessed with support in many aspects of life in 2019 after a pretty challenging and competitive 2018, when the Sheep formed a half penalty with the Dog, causing mental and emotional strain. Those born in the year of the Sheep (1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015) will find themselves thriving in the communities they belong to, with full support from the tribes. Find inspiration from the world around you, especially from your lineage, if you were born in the month of the Sheep (between July 7 to August 6) – this is the year to showcase your creative solutions at work.  Those born on the day of the Sheep should dedicate time for self-care as healing of all kinds is well supported in 2019. If you were born  in the hours of the Sheep (between 1 to 3 p.m.), this is the time to nourish the creative within and connect deeper with your children if you’re a parent.
Monkey
The Monkey is one of the most fortunate signs in 2019, with opportunities to travel and connect with helpful people. This is not the year to sit around. If you were born in the year of the Monkey (1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016), being more active in your communities can help you progress in your social and professional life. Join a group, or volunteer. For those born between August 8 to September 7, the Pig will help showcase your sharp mind to those who matter. If you were born on the day of the Monkey, take good care of your health – keep a regular physical routine but avoid high-risk activities. Those born between 3 to 5 p.m. will enjoy seeing their offspring or business thrive. Everyone with a Monkey in their chart should be extra mindful on the road in 2019 as both the Monkey and the Pig are travel stars. For those who are thinking of starting your own business, this is a good year to do so as the universe will help you put together the resources needed, although results may not show until 2020, which promises to be an even better year as the Rat’s one of your allies – may as well get ready for it!
Rooster
The Pig year brings opportunities to travel for the Rooster, whether for business or pleasure as the Pig is a travel star to those born in the year or day of the Rooster. This is the year to enrich your knowledge as the mind is more receptive to learning. Those born in the year of the Rooster (1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017) will benefit from investing in educational trips, so if you’ve been wanting to take that workshop overseas, go for it! If you were born between September 8 to October 7, look for new approaches at work, you may finally solve recurring issues with your creativity. Those born on the day of the Rooster will enjoy a deeper connection with their partner – take pleasure trips together or tag along if your partner’s going out of town. Those born between 5 to 7 p.m. may embark on a learning journey with their offspring or for their pet project.
Dog
The year of the Pig promises to bring more stability for the Dog after the karmic year of the stubborn Earth Dog. 2019 is a time to rebuild whatever aspects of life that those with a Dog in their chart had to let go in 2018 and slowly move forward. Patience is key when it comes to forging new paths. Those born in the year of the Dog (1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018) may find themselves being in the right place at the right time, especially if you’re looking for a soulmate – listen to your keen intuition, make space for synchronicity. Those born in the month of the Dog (between October 8 to November 7) may have found a new career path in the past year – trust that your hard work will pay off despite heavy competition.Take good care of your health and strive toward a healthy lifestyle and committed relationship if you were born on the day of the Dog. Those born between 7 to 9 p.m. will enjoy a better relationship with their children after a difficult year of relating.
