December 7 brings us into the month of the Wood Rat in the Chinese calendar. We’re now in the middle of winter, a season ruled by Water element. In two months, we’ll enter the new year of the Earth Pig.
Did you take note of events that happened in the previous month? Whatever transpired in your personal life, immediate surroundings, or the world at large, take your observations as preparation points for the year ahead. November 2018 marked the shift of energy from the current year of the Dog to the upcoming year of the Pig, which starts on February 4, 2019.
This Wood Rat month is the month to start planning for the year ahead. Potentials for growth are high as Yang Wood is the element of renewal and expansion. Plant your seeds early so you can start seeing progress when spring begins in February with the arrival of the year of the Pig. The Rat, a Water element sign, is also known as a “Peach Blossom”, bringing plenty of opportunities for social activities with loved ones and new connections. If Wood and Water are your favorable elements, you can expect a highly positive month ahead. *Contact me here if you are interested in a strategic life reading.
Now that we’re in a predominantly Water season (and will be so for the next few years), it’s critical that we find our inner joy, especially if you find yourself lacking in joy this holiday season. Feed and strengthen your inner Yang: keep yourself warm, stoke that inner fire, always cook your food to add Fire element into your body, take a vacation where it’s sunny.
In the Flying Star Feng Shui chart for December 2018 below, the numbers in green are the annual stars for current year (good until February 4, 2019), while the numbers in blue refer to December’s monthly stars.
With the monthly 4 in the center joining the annual 9, we can expect a very social holiday season, especially if the center of your home is an open, usable area.
The South is December’s most auspicious sector, with monthly star 8 of prosperity joining the annual star 4 of romance and academic excellence. If the main door of your residence is located in the South sector, this is the month to be more social.
If you’re looking for more inspiration and productivity, spend more time in the Southwest sector as the monthly star 1 of wisdom joins the annual star 6 associated with power and authority. This is also a great sector for meditation and vision boarding for the year ahead.
The sectors to keep quiet this month are the North, Northwest, and East sectors. The monthly star 9 visits the North, which may further aggravate the year’s most sensitive sector already visited by the annual 5 star of misfortune and the Three Killings. Keep this sector as quiet as possible. Avoid bright colors, bright light and loud noises in the North as well as in the Northwest as the monthly star 5 visits the Northwest.
Reinforce all doors and windows located in the East and Northeast sectors of your home as the monthly star 2 of illness joins annual star 7 of robbery in the East, while the monthly star 7 of robbery visits the Northeast. On a positive note, those who reside in the Northeast will also be blessed with the auspicious luck of the “sum of ten” as the monthly 7 combined with the annual star 3. Take your precautions, and enjoy the positive!
*Although there may be remedies to lessen a sector’s negative energy, the best solution is to keep the area as quiet as possible and respect whatever energy is visiting there, especially if you’re not familiar with your home’s natal energies as you may accidentally activate a negative natal star. If you do have to spend time in the area, keep your activities there minimal. Common sense also applies – for example, it’s a good idea to have doors and windows reinforced if they’re located in a sector affected by star 7 of robbery.
Contact me here if you’d like to identify and activate the auspicious sectors in your living or office space and subdue the influences of inauspicious stars to help manifest your highest potentials. A proper Feng Shui analysis always takes into account the floor plan of a home, its location, direction, external and internal environment, and the year the home was built, as well as its affinity with the residents’ natal charts.
Feng Shui has nothing to do with having a “consultant” come and “clean” your space with sage, incense, or palo santo sticks. While I love those space-clearing tools, they’re as good as vacuuming and mopping the floor and will not get you to the root of the issue. In fact, it is better to vacuum as the noise and movement activate a positive sector – I highly recommend doing so on the first day of the new solar month! Just like we spend time on self-care as part of our life’s self-work, there is major “home” work involved once you’ve had your home professionally Feng Shui’d. Knowing your home’s natal energies can be enlightening and also frightening as it brings full awareness to your internal environment, which is a major part of our luck and destiny.
